Dozens killed in stampede at political rally in southern India
India: The state’s health minister on Saturday (Aest) said on Saturday that a popular actor and politician in Tamil Nadu, Southern India, killed at least 36 people at a rally for a rally and injured 40 people.
Minister Ma Subramanian said that the victims died when they were taken to hospital. He said the wounded were stable.
Subramanian said the dead contained eight children.

In the report, large crowds gathered in Karur for the event, which is a part of the ongoing state tour for Vijay’s party Tamilaga Vetteri Kazhagam.
Using only one name, Vijay is carrying out a campaign before the expected state elections in the beginning of next year.
In the report, at least 44 doctors of Tiruchirappalli and Salem’s nearby regions were deployed to Karur.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in an article in X, “During the political rally in Karur in Tamil Nadu, the unfortunate event deeply sad,” he said.
Tamil Nadu’s Ministry of Health and Prime Minister MK Stalin’s office remained unanswered.
“The news from Karur is worried,” Stalin said in a separate X article that he directed ministers and officials to provide emergency medical assistance and demanded additional assistance from Tiruchirappalli.
