Small experiments and initiatives and the ability to learn from failures should be the hallmark of India’s march towards self-reliance here on Wednesday, Zoho Corporation Chief Scientist Sridhar Vembu said.
speaking at 40This The talent pool in India is sufficient to develop technology locally in the march towards self-reliance, he told the meeting of Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER). He said his company doesn’t play the blame game, but instead learns from failures. His ability to put lessons together and stay in the game for long periods of time opened up the possibilities. Citing examples from Zoho’s email platform and medical equipment division, he said the company took its time before it started distributing products and even had to scale back operations to do things right. “All of this was possible because we didn’t play the blame game. Instead, we thought, let’s see what we can learn.”
1,871 graduates, including 21 PhDs, 786 postgraduates and 1,084 UGs, were honored during the convocation. VR Venkatachalam, Chancellor, SRIHER and RV Sengutuvan, Pro-Chancellor were present.
