Family members of stampede victims leave for Mamallapuram to meet Vijay

Family members of many of the stampede victims in Karur left for Mamallapuram on Sunday; Here the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) invited them, saying party founder and actor Vijay was planning to meet them on Monday to offer his condolences.
Party cadre visited the homes of the bereaved family members on Sunday and arranged cars for their local travel. They were then taken to Vennaimalai in Karur, where they boarded air-conditioned buses waiting to take them to Mamallapuram. The buses left on Saturday afternoon.
According to sources, out of 33 victims in Karur district, family members of around 30 victims accepted Mr. Vijay’s invitation. As Sunday marked the 30th day since the tragedy that took place in Karur, some of the bereaved families performed the 30th day rituals at their homes before going to Mamallapuram.
TVK sources said these families will be accommodated in a hotel and will return to Karur on Monday evening.
