Parliament Budget Session LIVE: February 5 Updates

B.In other Parliamentary Assemblies, it is planned to continue the discussion of the ‘Thanks to the President’s Speech’ motion in the ongoing Budget Session on Thursday, February 5, 2026. In the Lok Sabha, the motion was introduced by Sarbananda Sonowal and seconded by Tejasvi Surya. The Parliament gave 18 hours for negotiations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was expected to respond to the Motion of Thanks in the President’s Address on Wednesday, February 4, 2026; Instead, after repeated interruptions and slogans from Opposition members, the Speaker adjourned the Lok Sabha.

While the debate continues, the Prime Minister is expected to respond to the motion of thanks in the Rajya Sabha today.

The budget session consists of 30 sessions over 65 days and will end on April 2. The two Houses will adjourn on February 13 and reconvene on March 9 to allow the Standing Committees to examine Grant Requests from various Ministries and departments.
