Telstra warns of new wave of scams on encrypted messaging apps

Popular encrypted messaging platforms become a safe shelter for scammers who want to skip the deception blocking technology when Australia’s largest Telco warning.

Telstra warned its customers to flock to encrypted messaging platforms, marking users may be more vulnerable to messages and calls.

The safety of end -to -end encryption means that messages can only be accessed by the sending and the recipient, while limited visibility for telecommunication providers, deceptive blocking technologies cannot scan or filter the suspicious activity.

Telstra’s cyber expert Darren Pauli said that the encryption is a “great thing ,, while the nature of these platforms makes it difficult for Telcos to watch potential frauds.

The telecommunication provider also offered an increase in advanced recruitment charm and fake business opportunities that seem to be legitimate fraud, and a reinforced fraud and deep leaves.
