Opposition Leader Steven Miles gets the blues with ‘Temu’ Labor budget in reply speech

“In his budgets this week, the new South Wales government extended the same tax concession indefinitely. One in the next election [Queensland] The workers’ government will expand this tax reduction indefinitely.

“We will match the new South Wales in this way, not playing their colors.”

It was one of the many references to the blue colors made in Parliament on Thursday.

Miles exploded what Labour describes as the “Blue Budget of Blue Promises”, which the new Broken Promise Tracker website would be emphasized.

“I will update this list to take into account this government and this premiere, so that they cannot sweep these broken promises under the carpet,” he said.

“There are already quite big ones.

“Premier promised Queenslanders that energy bills would be lower, but they will actually be higher in the east, $ 77 higher and even more in regions.

“Energy invoice promised discounts, but most households will not receive any of them.

“The Prime Minister promised to deliver 2200 new hospital beds by 2028. Instead, they tear this plan, they left to wait to wait for Queenslanders hospitals to find the timeline for the government’s future health capital program.”

He also excavated the re -branding of the government, which changed Maroon with Blue.

“We bleed Maroon, because this is our situation, our color, and this government tried to destroy our identity without making consultations or explanations,” he said.

“Premier labeled it as a ‘stupid little game’, and I don’t think it’s ridiculous and Queenslanders.

“Maroon will always and always be perfectly Queenslander. Maroons will soon turn on a decision to fight for our state.

“Meanwhile, Bluewater member – so Broadwater [Premier David Crisafulli] – Blue paint the town.

“I wish there was a joke, but unfortunately, now real.

Previously, at the question clock, Janetzki mocked miles for raising the branding as the first question to the government.

“The leader of the opposition is busy with the color of the cover of the budget documents,” he said.

“On this side of the house, we focus on the numbers within the budget that uses living standards for Queenslanders. This is what we focus on.”

After Miles’ speech, Deputy Prime Minister Jarrod Bleijie attacked and said that the “embarrassing” speech was not a new initiative, financing and “secret working taxes”.

“Opposition leader Steven Miles gave the first budget answer and the last,” he said.
