IBPS RRB Officers Scale-I Prelims Admit Cards Out: What candidates need to know before 23 November deadline

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has officially released the admit cards for Group ‘A’ – Officers Scale-I Preliminary Examination under the CRP-RRBs-XIV recruitment cycle. Candidates who applied for the post will now be able to download the call letter from the IBPS portal. The admit card download facility will remain active until November 23, after which the link will be disabled.

IBPS has clearly stated that admit card is mandatory to enter the examination hall. Candidates are required to bring the printed call letter along with a valid photo ID and current passport size photograph.

How to Download IBPS RRB Officer Scale-I Admit Card Step by Step from Official Portal?

To access the admit card, candidates need to visit the official IBPS link dedicated to Civil Servant Scale-I preliminary exams. They must log in using:

  • registration number
  • Password or date of birth
  • Captcha verification

Once you log in, the admit card will be ready to download and print. IBPS advises candidates to double-check important details such as name, exam date, reporting time, exam location and registration number.

A passport size photograph identical to the one used during the application must be attached to the call letter. Candidates are also required to bring an extra photo with them when they come to the exam centre.

What Does IBPS Officer Scale-I Preliminary Exam Pattern Look Like?

IBPS has also uploaded a detailed memo explaining the structure of the preliminary exam. The test consists of:

  • Reasoning – 40 questions
  • Quantitative Aptitude – 40 questions

Total duration is 45 minutes and candidates must qualify individually in both sections. Just scoring the minimum score is not enough as higher scores increase the chances of being shortlisted for the Main exam. Other important points are:

  • Negative Scoring: For each incorrect answer, one quarter of the score given to the question will be deducted.
  • Exam language: The exam will be held in English and the regional language of the state to which the candidate is applying.
  • Final authority: In case of any discrepancy between the translated and English versions of the questions, the English version will be considered final.
  • EB candidates: Extra make-up time will be provided as per official guidelines.

What to Carry on IBPS Preliminary Exam Day? Mandatory Documents and Important Instructions for Candidates

On the exam day, candidates must bring the following:

  • Printed call letter with photo attached
  • Original valid photo ID document (Aadhaar, PAN, Voter ID, etc.)
  • ID photocopy
  • One additional passport photo

The exam invigilator will verify the call letter and ID photocopy and candidates are required to keep these documents for the Main exam.

IBPS has also issued strict guidelines:

  • Entry will not be allowed after the reporting period.
  • To avoid confusion regarding the location, candidates must visit the center one day in advance.
  • Items such as mobile phones, calculators, books and electronic devices are strictly prohibited.

IBPS RRB Officers Scale-I 2025–26 Recruitment Timeline

According to the IBPS calendar:

  • Preliminary Exam: November – December 2025
  • Main Exam: December 2025 – February 2026
  • Interviews: January – February 2026
  • Provisional Allocation: Expected by March 2026

The timeline confirms that the recruitment process will span several months and scoring high at each stage will be crucial for the final selection.
