With hard work and determination, he can fight and succeed in all proportions. IAS Ramesh Gholap’s journey is an excellent example. Despite the difficulties, the Union Public Service Commission broke the examination of the Union Public Service Commission exam to become an IAS officer. He was born from a small village in Maharashtra in Gorakh Gholap, a bicycle repairer in a village in Solapur of Maharashtra. His left leg was affected by child paralysis. As his father’s health worsened due to alcoholism, he had to take responsibility for his family of four at an early age. That’s when he began to sell bracelets with his mother on the streets to support the family.
Despite poverty, Ramesh was a bright child since his childhood. He was respected by his teacher. The problem began when he lost his father in the 12th grade. He wasn’t enough to pay the bus fee for his father’s funeral. He noticed his bad situation and studied as a last resort to remove himself and his family from poverty. He worked hard and took good grades in school exams. After completing his school, he decided to follow D.ed (diploma in education) because it was the cheapest course. Later, he received an art degree through distance education. He then worked as a teacher. He was devastated by his mother’s failed attempts to buy a house from the government. After that, he founded a political party and his mother competed for the Panchayat elections. He took a 6 -month gap from his job and started to prepare for IAS.
