Son of former England footballer Stuart Pearce dies in tractor crash in Cotswolds | Gloucestershire

The son of former England footballer Stuart Pearce has been announced as the victim of a fatal tractor crash in the Cotswolds.

Gloucestershire police said 21-year-old Harley Pearce died at the scene of the collision on the A417, Old Birdlip Hill, Witcombe, near Gloucester, on October 16.

Harley, who lived in Marlborough, Wiltshire, was the youngest of Stuart Pearce’s two children. Pearce made 78 appearances for England and served as interim manager of the national team in 2012.

In a statement released by police, Harley’s family said: “Our family is truly shocked and heartbroken by the loss of our beloved son and devoted brother Harley.

“A spirit who left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew him.

“He was a golden child with an infectious smile and this shocking tragedy will leave a huge hole in the hearts of those lucky enough to know him.

“We are proud of the young man who, with quiet, understated strength and profound kindness, has demonstrated a great work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit in the agricultural industry.

“He will always be our shining star. Rest in peace our beautiful son and brother. You will never be forgotten.”

Police added that the family asked for their privacy to be respected.

Investigating officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or has relevant dashcam footage to get in touch.
