NCP High-Level meeting at Vidhan Bhavan Today

Mumbai: All representatives of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council will meet at Vidhan Bhavan in Mumbai at 2 pm on Saturday.
In the meeting notice signed by Maharashtra Pradesh Nationalist Congress Party President Sunil Tatkare on Friday, all members of the Legislative Assembly/Legislative Council were summoned to the meeting.
This comes amid speculations about Sunetra Pawar, who the Deputy CM is pitted against, and the merger of two NCP groups.
Meanwhile, ahead of the NCP legislative party meeting scheduled to be held this afternoon, Sunetra Pawar arrived in Mumbai. He recently arrived at Devgiri Bungalow, the government residence allotted to Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
Kiran Gujar, a member of Vidya Prathisthan and a close friend of the Pawar family, said earlier in the day that NCP chief Ajit Pawar’s last wish was to unite the two party factions.
Meanwhile, speaking to reporters, Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar claimed that there was a conspiracy behind the plane crash and questioned the timing of the incident.
Wadettiwar said, “It was true that Rajesh Tope talked about the coming together of the two factions of the NCP. They had a meeting and merger talks were going on. Now, if Ajit Dada’s plane crashes at the same time, it is a serious matter. Only a high-level investigation can clarify this.”
The NCP and NCP (SCP) contested the Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation elections in an alliance and there was talk of an alliance for the upcoming Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections. Amidst this, before Ajit Pawar died, there were speculations that the two groups would come together under a single symbol.
NCP Maharashtra President Sunil Tatkare refused to comment on the controversy surrounding the vacant Deputy CM post.
“We feel that Dada (Ajit Pawar) is still with us. It is very painful for us to come to this (party) office today in his absence. Beyond that, I have nothing else to say,” he said.
