‘You are my life’: Sir David Beckham extends the biggest olive branch yet to estranged son Brooklyn as former footballer pays tribute to his family in emotional New Year’s Eve post

Sir David Beckham described wife Lady Victoria and their children as his ‘life’ in an emotional address to his Instagram followers and his absent eldest son.
In what appears to be another attempt to resolve their ongoing estrangement, the former Manchester United and England footballer included Brooklyn Beckham in his latest family photos on New Year’s Eve.
Brooklyn has been absent from all the important family events throughout the year, including his father’s milestone 50th birthday celebration and his long-awaited appointment to the post at Windsor Castle.
The cooking influencer also missed the launch of her mother’s popular Netflix series; Brooklyn’s annual runway shows in Paris, New York and London were also skipped; Brooklyn spent most of the year in the United States with his American wife Nicola Peltz.
Possibly the most hurtful snub was that Sir David and his family were excluded from Brooklyn and Nicola’s marriage renewal ceremony, which took place in August at her wealthy father’s mansion in upstate New York.
Conversely, the young couple also chose to miss close family friend Holly Ramsay’s wedding to Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty at Bath Cathedral on December 27.

But Sir David, 50, is clearly keen to build a bridge over murky waters as he shares a series of family snaps with his Instagram followers, including a snap of Brooklyn as a teenager.
She captioned the photo: ‘I love you all so much.’
Other shots featured the retired footballer with his sons Romeo, Cruz and daughter Harper, while the final photo also featured his wife Victoria and their four children, with the caption: ‘You are my life’.
Earlier that day, Sir David reflected on the past year and said how ‘grateful’ he was for moments such as his 50th birthday and being knighted, while admitting it was a year he will ‘remember forever’.
The Inter Miami co-owner shared an Instagram carousel of 20 monumental moments for 2025; none of which involved Brooklyn.
But she also included photos of Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14, as they enjoyed family holidays and celebrations together over the past 12 months.
Alongside the photos, he wrote: ‘I feel so lucky to have had a year full of moments I will never forget in 2025, from my 50th birthday to my knighthood (I’m still pinching myself) and then finishing it off by winning the MLS as owner.’
Sir David thanked his wife Victoria, 51, and their children in his post, but did not check their names one by one as he has done in the past.
Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz Brooklyn did not attend any major Beckham family-related events throughout the year, including his father’s long-awaited appointment.

‘But as Sir Alex Ferguson said, ‘to the next one’. Thank you for the incredible memories that I will remember forever in 2025. @victoriabeckham I love you and our children.’
The post included photos of David’s four family dogs, cocker spaniels Fig, Sage and Olive, as well as a Cockapoo named Simba.
Lady Victoria also showed support for her husband by resharing his post and writing: ‘We are all so proud of you (and love you so much!).’
This comes after Brooklyn and Nicola snubbed Beckham’s Christmas in the Cotswolds and decided to spend it in the US instead.

Earlier on Wednesday he said how ‘grateful’ he was for moments such as his 50th birthday and being knighted, and admitted it was a year he will ‘remember forever’.
The post was largely a tribute to his wife Victoria, with whom he was photographed at her 50th birthday party in the Cotswolds, which Brooklyn did not attend.

The actress revealed how much she ‘loved being at home’ over the weekend after wrapping up filming on thriller Pretty Ugly.
The couple continued to put on a united show amid growing backlash from fans who urged him to mend his rift with his family.
Recently, younger brother Cruz confirmed that he blocked his entire family on social media following reports that Brooklyn unfollowed him.
‘My mother and father never stop following their son… Let’s get the facts right. “They woke up just like me…blocked,” Cruz wrote.
While her parents, Sir David, Kadt Victoria and her siblings celebrated Holly Ramsay’s wedding to Adam Peaty in Bath on December 27, Brooklyn chose to share a Grinch-themed post from her home in Los Angeles, thousands of miles away.
