What Is ‘Department Of War’? Why Trump Wants Its Comeback And What It Means For U.S. Military | World News

Washington: US President Donald Trump renamed the Ministry of Defense as the ‘War section’, the original title. The old name is “more powerful” and the weighing of the past military victories of America.
“The Ministry of Defense … The Defense did not be good for me … What are we defending? Why are we defending? Why was we defending? In the past, it was called the war department and it had a stronger voice. I won World War I, World War I..”
He stressed the desire for a more ambitious stance, “I just don’t want to be a defense … We also want a crime … We always want to change this where we won the wars.”

Trump rejected any obstacles from the Congress on this proposed name change. “We will only do … I’m sure the congress will continue if we need it. I don’t even think we need it.”
Trump did not raise this idea for the first time. At the NATO summit in June, he implied to restore the original name, and even called Pate’s “War Secretary”. He pointed to the historical building near the White House as a reminder of the old title.
“If you look at the old building next to the White House, you may see that there was a war secretary.” He said.

“Then we were politically right and they called it the defense secretary. Maybe we’ll have to start thinking about changing it.”
The Ministry of War was one of the three original departments formed by the first US Congress in 1789. It developed over time. The navy section was established separately in 1798. II. After World War II, the 1947 National Security Law united the army, navy and air force within the scope of the national military organization. This entity was renamed as the Ministry of Defense in 1949 to reflect civilian control over the army.
Trump’s forcing to return to the old name reflects the preference of a stronger and more aggressive military stance and attributes it to the historical victories of America.
