Satellite images show that six trees, including magnolias commemorating two presidents, have been erased from the White House grounds.
Even historic trees aren’t safe from President Donald Trump’s path to destroy the White House. Satellite images show six trees, including southern magnolias planted in memory of presidents Warren G. Harding and Franklin D. Roosevelt, were axed or removed at the White House this week as Trump abruptly demolished the East Wing. First Lady Florence Harding planted the tree, later named in her husband’s honor, in a photographic ceremony on March 29, 1922.
