The Rocks, Sydney: Pony Dining exposes customers ‘wild’ act after CCTV footage surfaces

A high-end Sydney restaurant shared a customer’s outrageous behavior on social media.
Pony Dining at The Rocks shared footage of the horrific act after guests refused to pay after claiming they found hair in the food.
However, CCTV footage reveals a different story.
In the clip shared on Instagram, the family of six can be seen sitting at a table with many dishes laid out in front of them.
A man in a white T-shirt is seen reaching into his armpit and pulling out a hair and examining it.
Then he goes back in and pulls out another strand of hair and carefully places it on the food in front of him.
The restaurant shared the disturbing images with the caption: “We don’t usually share this type of content.”
“After the meal was served, the guest complained about the hairs in his food and refused to pay for all the food,” the post said.
“During the interaction, our team also encountered inappropriate and unacceptable behavior.”
Pony Dining added that they officially reported the incident and shared the video to “raise awareness for other accommodation venues.”
The high-end restaurant is located in The Rocks, an area right on the edge of Sydney Harbour, and specializes in premium, dry-aged steaks and fresh seafood.
According to the images, it is likely that the group ran up a bill of hundreds of dollars.
The footage quickly went viral, leaving commenters stunned by the horrific act.
One person said: “WILD… and the girls are licking plates oof”.
Another added: “Yes! We see it in our restaurant!!” he said. “Customers are NOT always right or good…this is disgusting”.
Pony Dining added to the post: “We understand this is unpleasant to watch.
“We appreciate the kind messages and support given to our team. Hospitality can be difficult and we hope all venues feel empowered to protect their teams.”
