This iOS 26 Feature Might Keep Me From Switching Back to Pixel

In 2021, I switched to Apple’s iPhone 12 Pro Max from a Google Pixel 3 XL to the iPhone 12 Pro Max, and since then I miss Google’s waiting for me. This feature is very useful to save me from the misery of listening to music when I need to call any of the numerous advertising tasks that require a job, my health insurance provider, my mobile phone carrier or a representative still requiring a representative. Instead, the Google feature silences my phone while keeping the search active, listens to the music for me, and then stole the representative I will return in a short time while playing when it’s time to return to the call.
And so I was excited when the worldwide developers conference announced in 2025, when Apple announced Hold Assist, who was very similar to Pixel’s grip for me. I’m going back to Android Rumor Pixel 10Partly because I missed these call checks for daily problems. However, with iOS 26, Hold Assist should detect music holding music and then give the option to silence the call while holding actively. Then, when the representative comes again, the phone will inform you when it’s time to return to the call. To start trying this feature, we will have to wait for the general beta, but it looks almost like a pixel feature on paper.
Waiting was released for me with Pixel 5 and 4A in 2020.
Although I am pleased that the iPhone is finally equivalent to this feature, it is worth a long time for such search enhancements to be out of Google’s pixel line. Google introduced Hold for me in 2020, but most of the other Android phones made by Samsung, OnePlus and others do not include their own purchases.
For iOS 26, the new call scanning feature is similar to Pixel’s call screen option, but Apple’s interpretation seems to adopt a more automatic approach. Apple’s Call screen will collect information such as the name and purpose of an unknown caller for you, and then provide a summary to help you decide whether you need to get it. If you are still not sure, you can send more information if necessary.
In iOS 26, Hold will keep the Assist call to be active, but the phone will be silenced.
Google’s solution allows you to select the questions asked to the caller, and instead of a summary, you watch it as a text transcription of the call.
What I admire most about these features is that the iPhone remembers that it is a phone at the end of the day. And the spam seekers, especially AI sound clones add more problems to the types of fraud trying to reach people, continue to be a problem as usual.
I will continue to bring my patience to the next time I need to call my health insurance provider until it comes later when it comes to iOS 26 this year. And my fingers can become something in the past when waiting for a wide range of use.
