according to Daily RecordAndrew gave up his honorary membership in the club due to the Epstein scandal.
The course and club will also come under the management of St Andrews Links Trust on a long-term lease.
In addition to the name, the club’s logo will also be changed and its royal connotation will be removed. Instead of a stray lion holding a saltire flag, the logo will feature an illustration with trees nearby.
Duke’s Course will continue to be operated by golf resort operator Kohler, with ownership of the Old Course Hotel, through Jan. 5.
Neil Coulson, chief executive of St Andrews Links Trust, said: “The deal for the Craigtoun Course will see the first new course added to the Home of Golf portfolio in 18 years and provides an ideal opportunity to expand the golf experiences we offer.
“We are delighted to have reached an agreement with the Old Course Hotel and look forward to taking over and building on the reputation of this hotel, which is already a significant asset for St Andrews and Scotland.”
Andrew will also soon be leaving Royal Lodge, the 30-room property where he has lived since 2004. He will reportedly be moving to a property at Sandringham Manor, while his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson will also be moving out of Royal Lodge.
