Savannah Sutherland lowers NCAA and Canadian women’s 400m hurdles marks in 4-record effort

The 21 -year -old school, Texas’s Akala Garrett (54.66) at the 400 -meter event, crossed the end line in 52.46 seconds to beat the school NCAA, NCAA, NCAA Championship Meet and Canada. Sutherland’s previous national record period has been held since June 8th.
Saturday’s performance was a second faster than the 52.75 college record of Sydney McLawhlin-Levrone, the US Olympic champion and the world-record owner. Sutherland and McLawhlin-Levrone, the only female runners who broke 53 seconds in the history of NCAA.
Sutherland, who ranked seventh in the Paris Olympic Final last August 8, tied the world champion Femke Bol for the world leadership this season only behind McLughlin-Levrone (52.07).

On Friday, Sutherland started strongly and maintained its leadership during the race and increased its advantage in one round race with each cleaning of 10 obstacles for two consecutive finishes at the NCAA championships.
He came fourth in the first year of 2022.
On May 18, Sutherland won the third plain championship at Big Ten Championships in Eugene and lasted more than two seconds.
