They fear their relatives are among the hundreds of bodies piled up at a crematorium in Mexico
Families are demanding answers after the authorities in Mexico, Ciudad Juárez. 383 bodies were hidden in a crematorium Months and years after people die.
Norma Guardado Meraz was one of the many indigenous people who visited the Chihuahua Prosecutor’s Office this week, and to get more information about the investigation of the discovery, he was afraid of his relatives among the bodies.
The discovery was held on June 26, after finding a funeral funeral with two bodies and other bodies stacked in a room in the courtyard of a few municipal police officers.
Prosecutor César Jáuregui claimed that the bodies had accumulated since 2020, which could not fulfill the services that the installation crematorium was subcontracted by six funeral houses.
Guardiado Meraz, CNN’ye told, “We want to be satisfied and to help us to see what is happening to the authorities, we want an answer, so we can be sure that we have the right person in our URN,” he said.
He and his family require clarity about the fate of his mother María Nieves Meraz, who died three years ago and leaned against one of the funeral homes who made the sub -contract of the Creekerium.
Another resident Javier Ramírez went to the prosecutor on Wednesday to determine whether the remains belonged to his father, who was held in one of the other funeral homes who died and awakened two months ago.
CNN is trying to contact the managers of the funeral homes for a comment.
Ramírez told CNN, “They tell us that they will tell us only when it has information, but they don’t know how long it will take. In other words, we should only wait and see what they say to us.”
CNN asked the prosecutor how many complaints he had received in this case and expecting an answer.
The office said on Tuesday that 218 was male, 149 women and 16 gender could not be detected.
The authorities detained the owner of the company operating the Creekatorium and Assistant in connection with the discovery. They were planned to go to court on Friday. CNN is trying to contact the legal defense team to find out how to respond to accusations against them.
As the case progresses, the prosecutor’s office promises a comprehensive investigation and says that it encourages more people to stand out and demand answers.
