President Donald Trump said he and Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to meet in Budapest, Hungary, during a long phone call on Thursday to discuss how to end Russia’s war in Ukraine.

Trump also said that Secretary of State Marco Rubio and other ‘Senior Advisors’ will meet with their Russian counterparts next week to lay the groundwork for his summit with Putin. Trump did not say when he expected to meet with Putin.

Trump detailed his meeting with Putin Real Social post.

The call came a day before Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is due to meet Trump at the White House, where Kiev is seeking more US support in its war against Russia.
