It is currently unknown whether the news will affect staff and whether any redundancies are likely.
In its heyday, the business operated as a Tier 1 supplier, securing ongoing contracts with premium automotive and performance brands such as Jaguar Land Rover, Arctic Trucks, Subaru and Nissan Nismo.
Operations are currently paused while the administrator reviews the company’s financial situation and potential recovery paths. Several parties have already expressed interest in purchasing the business.
The administrator aims to secure a sale that will allow trading to resume and help protect jobs, subject to due diligence and agreement on commercial terms.
The company has focused on high-performance chassis development and innovative suspension solutions, as well as building advanced powertrains, including projects involving hydrogen fuel cell technology.
Its engineers also contributed to the development of a completely new battery-electric sports car.
JRM Advanced Engineering has delivered what it calls “a credible engineering package and layout concept” for Caterham’s Project V electric vehicle. The study included both front and rear axle concepts combining lightweight double-wishbone suspension with adjustable toe and camber settings.
