Nothing Can Stop Taiwan From Being Reunited With China: Xi Jinping | India News

Chinese President Xi Jinping has promised that China and Taiwan will be reunited.

His remarks came after China conducted large-scale military exercises around Taiwan.

PLA Large-Scale Military Exercises

On Monday and Tuesday, China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) launched live-fire exercises around Taiwan, simulating a blockade of major ports and deploying its navy, air force, rocket force and coast guard to encircle Taiwan’s main island.

During the drills, the Chinese army fired rockets at Taiwan. In the immediate vicinity of the island, various maneuvers were carried out in which warships and aircraft demonstrated their combat capabilities. Taiwan has described the drills as a threat to regional security.

China completed the opening ceremony on Wednesday but said its military would remain on high alert and continue drills.

In response, Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense said that a significant number of Chinese warplanes and ships were still present in the intervention zone near the island and that its military would therefore maintain a high level of readiness.

It is noteworthy that China’s military exercises took place after the USA announced that it would make an arms agreement with Taiwan.

What is the Dispute Between Taiwan and China?

Taiwan is a democratically governed island territory. But China sees it as part of its territory and has frequently warned that it will use force to seize control. Taiwan rejects China’s claims and receives support from Western countries, especially the United States. Most countries do not officially recognize Taiwan as an independent nation, instead viewing it as part of China.
