West Coast investigating after player allegedly involved in street fight
The West Coast Eagles are investigating an alleged street fight involving one of their players, Tyler Brockman, in Geraldton over the weekend.
The fight between three men, including a shirtless Brockman, was captured on cell phone; One of the men reportedly suffered a broken jaw during the fight.
West Coast said in a statement that it was aware of the incident that occurred on Saturday night.
“The club is providing support to Tyler as we work to gather all information regarding the incident and are unable to comment further at this time,” the statement said.
No report was made to WA Police about the incident.
In August last year, Brockman was fined $1,400 after pleading guilty to careless driving and failing to report the accident to police after crashing his Ford Ranger into a lamppost in Geraldton in May 2024 before fleeing the scene.
The striker was in the regional town to attend a family funeral.
The judge stated that the crash occurred “under extremely suspicious circumstances”.
Following the incident, Brockman released a statement saying he had to make some changes to meet AFL standards on and off the field. He also attended a club-approved welfare training programme.
The 23-year-old has played in 56 AFL matches, including 30 for West Coast and 26 for Hawthorn.
He signed a contract with the Eagles for one more season.
