A pair of black gloves found near Nancy Guthrie’s Tucson-area home is now being tested for DNA, marking the latest development in the investigation into her disappearance.
Authorities said the gloves were found roughly a mile and a half from his Catalina Foothills home, but it is not yet known whether they are linked to the masked man captured on surveillance video at the home.
Deputies and FBI agents were seen searching desert brush on a nearby roadside from late Wednesday through early Thursday, focusing on land about a mile away from the property. Fox News Digital observed multiple patrol vehicles and a sheriff’s forensic truck at the scene as investigators combed the cacti and rocky ground. Authorities declined to discuss what triggered the search.
Investigators are also seeking Ring doorbell footage from homes in the area between 9 p.m. and midnight on Jan. 11 and 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Jan. 31, time periods that authorities believe could be significant.

Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of NBC’s “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, was last seen at her home on Jan. 31 and was reported missing the next day. Investigators said they believed she was abducted against her will, and DNA testing confirmed the blood found on her porch was hers.

Since the security footage was released, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office said it has received thousands of tips from the public as the investigation intensifies. FBI Director Kash Patel said agents worked for days to obtain previously inaccessible footage related to the case.

Savannah Guthrie shared the footage publicly and said her family believes their mother is still alive. He and his brothers expressed a willingness to pay a ransom, but authorities have not confirmed whether the ransom messages circulating are genuine or whether investigators have been in direct contact with anyone claiming responsibility.
Authorities also warned that Nancy Guthrie was addicted to various drugs, raising concerns about her health as the search continued.
