King Charles ‘considers stripping Prince Andrew of royal title’

King Charles is reportedly considering stripping Prince Andrew of his title as Duke of York after the palace reached a “tipping point” over a series of scandals.
King ‘considering all options’, royal source says said Times, Removing Andrew from the dukedom is an option. Another option would be to exile him from the Order of the Garter.
The move would require an act of parliament for the move, but if it had the King’s backing it would likely have the support of the government and the public, according to the newspaper, although it is hoped Andrew will voluntarily give up the title before being forced to do so.
The royal family’s “concern” and “concern” about the Duke stems from recent revelations about his links to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and a senior Chinese Communist Party official at the center of the Chinese spy case scandal.
Prince Andrew held meetings in 2018 and 2019 with Cai Qi, who is now a first-year member of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Secretariat and Xi Jinping’s de facto private secretary. Mr Cai was suspected of being the recipient of sensitive information allegedly transferred to China by two British citizens accused of spying for Beijing.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) last month dropped charges against suspected spies Christopher Berry and Christopher Cash for lack of evidence; both denied any wrongdoing.
Prince Andrew has met with the senior CCP figure at least three times. TelegramBoth in London and Beijing during the period when Mr Berry and Mr Cash were allegedly recruited to spy.
Meanwhile, an excerpt from Virginia Giuffre’s memoir, published posthumously on Wednesday GuardHe claimed to have had three separate encounters with the prince. Ms. Giuffre filed a sexual assault lawsuit in February 2022 against the Duke of York, who has always vehemently denied any wrongdoing. Ms. Giuffre died earlier this year.
Mrs. Giuffre told the prince book, Nobody’s Daughter: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice, He was “friendly enough but entitled” to having sex with Epstein’s ex-girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell on several occasions, including while she was staying at his home near Hyde Park, London, in March 2001.
The quote reads: “Maxwell woke me up that morning by saying in a sing-song voice: ‘Get out of bed, sleepyhead!’ He said it would be a special day. Just like Cinderella, I was going to meet a handsome prince!”
The removal of Andrew’s dukedom may be well received by the public; A YouGov poll this summer showed 67 percent of people were in favor of stripping him of his title. According to him, the process may take up parliament’s time due to procedural difficulties Times, He quotes a source who hopes he can act “honorably” and voluntarily give up his titles.
It would be the strongest line the palace has taken against the Prince since the late Queen removed him from his royal role in 2019.
Independent He contacted Buckingham Palace and the Duke of York for comment.
