Asia-Pacific markets traded mixed on Wednesday, with some indexes set to close early instead of the Christmas Eve holiday.
of japan Nikkei 225 Topix traded flat while Topix gained 0.14%. South Korea’s Kospi index gained 0.2%, while the small-cap Kosdaq fell 0.2%.
of hong kong Hang Seng index Futures traded at 25,818, above HSI’s last close of 25,774.14.
However, Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 ended a four-day winning streak with a 0.33% loss.
Hong Kong and Australian markets are expected to close early.
US futures were trading near the flat line in early Asian trading.
In the US, stocks rose for a fourth consecutive session as AI names continued to outperform in the holiday-shortened week.
The S&P 500 index closed at a record level of 6,909.79, with an increase of 0.46 percent. The broad market index is currently just below its all-time high of 6,920.34.
Nasdaq Composite index increased by 0.57 percent to 23,561.84 points. Technology giants Nvidia and Broadcom increased the index by around 3 percent and more than 2 percent, respectively. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 79.73 points, or 0.16%, to 48,442.41.
