YSRCP leader and former Minister Ambati Rambabu was put under 14 days judicial custody in another case related to 2023 for allegedly organizing lottery in Sattenapalli.
Sattenapalli Circle Inspector Narahari Nagamalleswara Rao said that the court on Thursday arrested Mr. Ambati Rambabu on the basis of prima facie evidence, including digital evidence submitted to the court in connection with the lottery allegation.
He said that a special case was filed against the accused in 2023 by Jana Sena Party’s Guntur district president Gade Venkateswara Rao and some evidence was obtained against the allegations of illegal lottery. Mr. Ambati said there were allegations that Rambabu collected money from the elderly and other retirees for lottery tickets from the pension amount distributed to the beneficiaries at that time.
The police now want him to be taken into custody for further investigation into the case, the official added.
Mr. Venkateswara Rao said that he had submitted all the evidence to the court and hoped that justice would be done.
