Sunjay Kapur’s mother Rani ‘not a shareholder,’ says Sona Comstar, proceeds with AGM

Sunjay Kapur’s mother, Rani Kapur, said in a statement on Friday, not the shareholder of the company, despite the request of postponement of the deceased president’s mother (AGM).
The automotive technology company said, “Based on the fact that Rani Kapur is not the shareholder of the company, the company concluded that the company could not postpone the AGM.”
“The AGM was realized when it was planned exactly in accordance with the laws and regulatory frameworks,“ Son Comstar said.
In his letter to the Board, Rani Kapur asked the AGM to be postponed for two weeks.
What did Rani Kapur claim?
In addition to searching for a postponement, Rani Kapur claimed that in the midst of a mourning period after his sudden death of his son, Sunjay Kapur, he claimed that “signing certain documents and certain things were put pressure”.
However, Comstar rejected the allegations.
“For the opening, the company confirmed that no documents were signed or received by Mrs. Rani Kapur after Mr. Sunjay Kapur passed.” He said.
Sunjay Kapur-Karisma Kapoor’s ex-husband and automobile components manufacturer Sona Comstar’s president-Polo died in June 2025 after a heart attack. It was reported that he had swallowed a bee during the match.
Rani, the mother of Sunjay, is also the former president of the Son Group and the wife of former president Surinder Kapur. However, he said that the automotive giant has not been a shareholder since 2019.
Rani Kapur also claimed that the death of his son in England last month was “extremely suspicious and unexplained conditions” and did not give any consent or did not nominate any person on the Board of Directors of the BLW Sensitive Forgings.
