Young man dies after being trapped under heavy machinery in regional Queensland

A young man has died after being crushed under heavy machinery in rural Queensland.

Emergency services were called to a business on Richmond Woolgar Road in Burleigh, about 500km west of Townsville, at around 12am on Friday following reports that a man had been seriously injured.

Paramedics and police arrived at the scene and discovered that the man had life-threatening injuries as a result of being trapped under heavy machinery.

The man, who was treated at the scene, died a short time later.

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland was notified of the incident and launched an investigation with the assistance of Queensland Police.
