Mystery grows after Florida doctor’s body found in Dollar Tree freezer a day after she entered store

A. Florida The doctor was found mysteriously dead in a freezer at the Dollar Tree a day after entering the store, according to a local report and his family.

Miami Police say the body of 32-year-old Massiell Garay Sanchez was found by an employee at the Miami Dollar Tree around 8 a.m. Sunday morning. he told Local 10 News.

The young mother entered the store on Saturday night but did not make any purchases. Investigators say he found a restricted employee-only area where the freezer was located and spent the night there.

His body was found unresponsive the next morning by an employee, authorities said. The circumstances surrounding his death are still under investigation, as authorities confirmed he was not an employee of the store.

“This is a painful thing; a family is heartbroken over the death of one person and we don’t know what really happened,” customer Gerardo Nunez told Local 10.

Garay Sanchez, originally from Nicaragua, was “a devoted doctor and a beloved mother.” according to a GoFundMe set up by his family.

“Originally from Nicaragua, Dr. Garay dedicated his life to medicine and became known as an Anesthesiologist specializing in congenital heart disease whose work brought hope and healing to countless children and families. His compassion, skill, and dedication to saving young lives defined both his career and character,” his family wrote.

They continued: “Beyond her profession, she was a loving mother to her two children who remained in Nicaragua and were the center of her world. Her strength, warmth and unwavering love for her family will always be remembered.”

A GoFundMe set up to bring him back to Nicaragua for his funeral had received over $2,600 in donations as of Monday morning.

Authorities said she was not forced into the freezer and ruled out a crime in her death.

The Dollar Tree location remained closed until 1 p.m. Sunday while police investigated. Miami police said they also met with his family while continuing the investigation into Garay Sanchez’s death. They are also trying to determine if the woman is dealing with any personal or mental health issues, Local 10 News reported.

His death is being treated as an unclassified death and authorities have not released further details.
