Police issue major update after woman found dead in Rochdale farm fire | UK | News

Police have issued an important update after a woman in her 30s died in a fire at a farm in Rochdale. According to information obtained, the body of a woman in her 30s was found in the stables on a farm in Milnrow. Firefighters were called to the blaze at Higher Tunshill Farm, on Tunshill Lane, at around 12.30pm on Friday.

A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of murder and released on police bail. A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: “At around 12.30pm on Friday, July 3, emergency services were called to reports of a fire at Higher Tunshill Farm in Milnrow. “Sadly, emergency services discovered the body of a woman inside stables on the property.

“A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of murder and was later released on bail pending further investigation. The scene of the crime remains and investigations are ongoing.”#

The barn is close to Carr Farm, where three-year-old Daniel Twigg was mauled to death by two dogs in May 2022, but is not part of the same property.
