Policing is a service-oriented responsibility, Chittoor SP tells trainee constables

A nine-month intensive residential training program for 2025 Paid Cadet Trainee Police Officers began on Monday, December 22, 2025, at the District Police Training Center (DPTC) here. There were 139 trainees in the batch, including 61 from Srikakulam and 78 from Vizianagaram district.
Police Chief Tushar Dudi, who met with the trainees, emphasized that policing is a service-oriented responsibility rather than just a job. He said the training period will remain critical in shaping their careers and expressed his desire for the group to emerge as the best group in the state.
Speaking to the media, the SP said that the Directorate General of Police (DGP) has released the updated training syllabus focusing on physical fitness, drills, handling of weapons, legal studies, ethics, discipline and community policing to respond to changing crime patterns and modern challenges. Mr Dudi said medical examinations were carried out on the first day of the trainees to ensure their physical and mental health.
The SP emphasized the importance of discipline, punctuality and commitment and encouraged the trainees to remain field-ready to respond to law and order problems, emergencies and disasters. Senior officers, including Additional SP (Operations and Responsible Administration) SR Rajashekar Raju, Deputy SP T. Sainath and other police officials were present.
