Renowned Adelaide restaurateur Tony Sanso, who cooked for legendary names like Frank Sinatra, Sophia Loren, dies aged 87

Before moving to Australia, a famous restaurant cooked for Hollywood royalties like Frank Sinatra and Sophia Loren died.
Tony Sanso is remembered as the pioneer of Italian cuisine in South Australia after his death on June 18th.
“My dear father Eugenio Antonio Sanso (or) Tony’s friends wrote on social media on social media.
“My father has opened many restaurants in Adelaide for many years in the restaurant business.
“His care and hard work will be remembered forever, and his wife Zeny will be missed by his youngest son Eugene and his grandchildren.”
Originally from Florence, Mr. Sanso, Frank Sinatra, Sophia Loren and Bob Hope were cooked at Four Seasons Hotel V in Paris and Savoy in London.

Among the successful restaurants of Mr. Sanso are the former mill in Hahndorf, the barn in Bridgewater, Gawler Mill, Villa Sanso and Chianti Classico, Tony’s Bistro and Hahndorf in Hahndorf, and recently Osteria Sanso in Kanmantoo.
In 1964, he settled in Adelaide and worked until he was 84 years old.
