Raipur: On Thursday, Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) in the state shook the parliament here, and the opposition (Lop) Charan Das Mahant and former Prime Minister Bhupesh Baghel, including 30 congresses, were suspended for a day.
Uesh Patel, a member of the congress, who brought the issue to the agenda during the question hours, tried to know whether there was a shortage of DAP from the government and what the demand and supply of fertilizer in the state was.
In response, the Minister of State Agriculture Ramvichar Netam admitted that there was a shortage of dap manure in the state and that the government encouraged Nano DAP among farmers to deal with this issue.
Mr. Netam said that the target of 3,10,000 metric tons of DAP was determined by the state center in 2025 in the Kharif season.
The Ministry of Union said that a procurement plan of 2,10,100 mt was given by the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers between April and 2025, and that 1,08,155 mt was provided until June 30th.
“In the current Kharif season, a problem is reflected in the DAP supply against the supply plan given until June 30,” he added.
He attributed scarcity to global reasons.
Members of the opposition, who were not satisfied with the minister’s answer, created a turmoil that led the house to be postponed for five minutes.
When the house continued and entered the well, they brought the problem back to the agenda.
Parliament Speaker Raman Singh suspended 30 congress members for entering the well and then announced that they were still suspended for the day they were still shouting slogans in the well.
