Five children injured after tree falls in public park
After a tree fell in a tree park, five children were injured and two children were hospitalized with serious injuries.
Officers were invited to reports of a falling tree in Chalkwell Park. Southend said Essex police at 15:00 on Saturday.
The force, “Chalkwell Park is staying at a serious scene. Ambulance and fire brigade colleagues, as well as civil servants respond,” he said.
“There was a series of losses and our work at the scene continues.
“We will ask the people to avoid this area as much as possible while this work continues.”
Two children were seriously injured and three children were injured.
An Eastern British ambulance service spokesman said: “We were called to report that a tree fell in Chalkwell Park in Chalkwell at 2.55. Six ambulances, three ambulance civil servants, London Air Ambulance and City Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.
“Two children were transferred to Southend University Hospital by Road. Three children were then moved to the same hospital with minor injuries.”

Chalkwell Park is an entertainment area with 27 hectares and a series of flower garden, two children’s playgrounds, a skating park and football, cricket, basketball and tennis areas.
