On Tuesday, the White House launched a “Media Bias Offenders Tip Line” that encourages ordinary Americans to report news they believe is biased, with the stated goal of “holding fake news accountable.”
Under a banner reading “CALL TO ACTION: Submit ‘Media Bias’ Tips,” the White House site explained that it needed the public’s help in reporting misleading and biased news to support the “Media Bias Portal” launched last week.
“The White House recently launched a Media Bias Portal in service of truth and transparency. Its purpose is to combat the Fake News Media’s baseless lies, willfully ignored context, and outright left-wing lunacy – a challenging task that requires the help of everyone who believes in facts and accuracy through Fake News.” the site is reading.

According to the White House, “So-called ‘journalists’ have made it impossible to detect every false or misleading story,” so the American public’s assistance is “essential” to the mission.
“The days of the Fake News Media controlling the narrative with lies, fake anonymous sources, and deliberate bias are over,” the White House statement continued. “If the legacy media fails to fulfill its responsibility to accurately inform the public, we know the American people will.”

Last week, the White House launched its “Media Offender of the Week” website (most recently referred to as the “Media Bias Portal”) dedicated to calling out what it describes as the “Fake News Media.”
At the top of the page is a banner that reads: “Misleading. Biased. Exposed.” CBS News features a section highlighting media outlets and reporters including The Independent and The Boston Globe.

“The media misrepresented President Trump’s call for Members of Congress to be held accountable for sedition by saying he called for them to be ‘executed,'” the site claims, citing the ongoing debate over a viral video in which six Democratic members of Congress urge U.S. service members to “reject illegal orders.”
In addition to the three publications listed at the top of the page, the site also features a “Criminal Hall of Shame” that includes CNN, MS NOW (formerly MSNBC), The Washington Post, and, for a second time, CBS News. Under the “Hall of Shame,” users are presented with allegations from various outlets, which the site categorizes under labels such as “Bias,” “Lie,” “Malpractice,” and “Left Wing Frenzy,” among others.
