Tiger Attack Victim’s Son Confronts Minister Eshwar Khandre

BENGALUR: Forest and Environment Minister Eshwar Khandre on Monday was inducted by late Rajshekar’s son Shivanand, who was mauled by a tiger in Mulluru village of Sargur taluk of Mysuru district, a few days after the authorities concerned transferred his father’s body for post-mortem to Mysuru city instead of a government one in Sargur or Heggadadevana Kote taluks.

Eshwar Khandre came to the morgue in Mysuru city to express his condolences, and Shivanand took exception to the Minister’s condolences to his father and suspected that “an autopsy was deliberately conducted in Mysuru city for the convenience of the Minister”.

Shivanand stated that his father’s body was transferred throughout the night without informing the grieving family members and asked, “Why was the autopsy done in Mysuru city when it could have been done in Sargur or HD Kote?” he asked the question.

He requested the Minister to take appropriate steps to stop wild animals from going into the border villages so that no more human lives are lost and said he did not want to accept a preferential leave from the State Government as his father died due to a tiger.

However, Minister Eshwar Khandre announced that he became aware of the autopsy performed on the body of the late Rajshekar in Mysuru city on the way and decided to offer his condolences at the morgue. He assured Shivanand that if anything wrong was found in the autopsy, he would take action against the erring officials.
