Migrant protest LIVE: Three arrested as Britain First march in Manchester | UK | News

Three people have been arrested so far in Manchester city center during Britain’s first march against immigrants. Today, on February 21, hundreds of people gathered in the city. Supporters of the far-right group joined the march calling for a “march for return and mass deportation” after meeting outside Manchester Piccadilly station.
Counter-protesters from groups including Resist Britain First and Stand Up to Racism met in the city center after 11am. Former Labor Party Leader Jeremy Corbyn addressed counter-protesters at a rally in Piccadilly Gardens. Ahead of the meetings, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) issued a 10-hour dispersal order in the city centre. The move, which aims to prevent “anti-social behaviour, crime, harassment, alarm or distress”, gives officers extra power to remove people from the area during marches and rallies.
GMP said three people were arrested shortly before 1pm during the Britain First rally and counter-protest. The reasons for the arrests were: violation of a dispersal order, assault on an emergency worker, and breach of the peace.
