PM Modi hails Trump’s Gaza peace plan, welcomes first phase of ceasefire agreement

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday welcomed the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas announced by US President Donald Trump.

Welcoming the first phase of the agreement, Modi added that it was also a ‘reflection’ of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s leadership.

“We welcome the agreement on the first phase of President Trump’s peace plan. It is also a reflection of Prime Minister Netanyahu’s strong leadership,” he wrote to Prime Minister X.
Additionally, the Prime Minister said he hopes for lasting peace and increased humanitarian aid to war-torn Gaza.

“We hope that the release of the hostages and the provision of more humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza will bring respite to them and pave the way for lasting peace,” Modi said.
