Police probe deaths of man and woman found 150 miles apart | UK | News

Police have launched an investigation into the deaths of a man and a woman who were found dead at two addresses approximately 150 miles apart. Emergency services were called just before 4pm on January 31 after concerns were raised about a woman at an address in Shirburn Road, Torquay.
Devon and Cornwall Police said the woman, in her 70s, was found dead at the home. His death is being treated as an unexplained incident.
Meanwhile, officers in Hampshire attended a property in Hythe, near Southampton, and found the body of a man in his 40s. His death is not believed to be suspicious.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding both the deaths and the presence of crime scene guards on duty at the two addresses.
Devon and Cornwall Police said the man and woman were thought to have known each other.
Relatives have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Pebworth, of Devon and Cornwall Police, said: “This is a very sad incident and we are offering our support to the next of kin of those killed.
“We continue to work with our colleagues at Hampshire Police as we investigate this matter.
“Officers are investigating to establish exactly what happened and cordons have been established at both addresses to allow for a full investigation.
“There will be an increased police presence in the area and we would encourage anyone with any concerns to speak to officers.”
Anyone with information can contact the force online or on 101, quoting log number 558 of 31 January.
