Ranbir Kapoor reveals his fashion brand ARKS is not named after Alia Bhatt, Raha; explains its meaning: ‘I realised that…’

Ranbir Kapoor launched fashion and lifestyle brand ARKS on his 42nd birthday in September 2024. Since then, people believed that the brand might be named after his wife Alia Bhatt or their daughter Raha Kapoor. Finally, the Rockstar actor revealed the meaning behind the name ARKS in the latest video shared on his brand’s social media channels.

In the five-minute clip, Ranbir is seen visiting the factory where ARKS products are manufactured and answering questions about the brand. He shared that the factory belongs to his brother-in-law, Bharat Sahni. Describing him as “the amazing Bharat”, she added: “He is an amazing guy. He was actually kind enough to let us borrow his space. He plays a big role in the ARKS story because he is one of the manufacturers of one of our products.”

When the Animal actor was asked about the name of the brand, he said, “It had different meanings. We started with a shoe, so at first it was ‘A Ranbir Kapoor Shoe’. Later it became ‘A Ranbir Kapoor Studio’, but at some point I realized it didn’t really need a meaning. I think it suited it very well. When we heard about ARKS and saw the logo, everything came together.”

Ranbir also talked about his future plans for ARKS and said, “As I get older, my desire for materialistic things diminishes. You always need a T-shirt or a denim jacket because you can wear it whenever you want. That’s where I come in with ARKS. But the plan is to really expand in different areas of lifestyle, whether it’s athletic wear or underwear. I’m also interested in the entire furniture market. So under the umbrella of ARKS, I think we’re really trying to sell a sensibility, an aesthetic, a lifestyle for the consumer.”

Meanwhile, on the film front, Ranbir Kapoor has two exciting projects set to release in 2026: Love and War and Ramayana Part 1. The first is a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film, also starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, and in the last one, Ranbir plays Lord Rama in the mythological epic directed by Nitesh Tiwari; Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana.
