Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old suspected assassin accused of shooting Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk during a campus appearance at Utah Valley University last month, will no longer show his face at the Provo courthouse at an in-person hearing scheduled for later this week.
According to court officials, Robinson will appear in court virtually on Monday, where he will not show his face. The judge is expected to weigh in on proposals to allow street clothes in court and ban cameras at hearings, but his tentatively scheduled preliminary hearing has been postponed until January.
Robinson’s defense was already expected to ask for more time at the hearing, which was canceled on October 30.

In Utah, preliminary hearings in cases involving serious crimes can be delayed for months, sometimes up to a year, Salt Lake City-based defense attorney Skye Lazaro told Fox News Digital earlier this month.
The trial gives the defense a chance to cross-examine witnesses and force prosecutors to produce evidence in court establishing probable cause to file charges for the alleged crime.

Robinson faces an aggravated murder charge, which carries the potential death penalty.
He is accused of climbing onto the campus roof with his grandfather’s Mauser .30-06 and shooting Kirk in the neck.

Authorities had previously claimed to have found the suspected murder weapon with his DNA on it and incriminating text messages in which he allegedly confessed to the crime to friends and family.
There is also video from the campus security system that purports to show him coming and going before and after the murder. Additional evidence against him is expected to emerge following the preliminary hearing.
