Millions of Qantas customers affected in data hack

Cyber criminals have gained access to “important” data of six million Qantas customers after hacking a call center with records containing customers’ names, E -mail addresses, telephone numbers and birth dates.
On Wednesday, the airline confirmed the cyber incident on a third -party platform, but made sure that customers have been included since then.
Qantas caught the wind of the attack for the first time when he detected unusual activity on a third -party platform used by the Qantas Airline Communication Center on Monday.
“The incident occurred when a cyber guilty call center targeted and reached a third -party customer service platform.” He said.
“There is no effect on Qantas’s operations or the security of the airline.

Qantas, dangerous system of credit card details, financial information or passport details are not made, he said.

Qantas Group CEO Vanessa Hudson said that the company has worked closely with the National Cyber Security Coordinator, Australian Cyber Security Center and independent private cyber security experts.
