Horror as two women killed in car crash as boy, 9, suffers life-changing injuries | UK | News

Two women died and a nine-year-old boy suffered life-changing injuries after a horrific crash on a rural road earlier today. The crash between a Vauxhall Meriva and a Suzuki Alto occurred on the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire border at around 6.20am on Thursday.
While two women in their 20s who were in the Suzuki were determined to have died at the scene, a nine-year-old boy who was also in the vehicle was taken to hospital. Three people were also injured in the crash at Vauxhall, with two people needing treatment for serious injuries.
Following investigation, Derbyshire Police arrested an 18-year-old man at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
But due to injuries sustained in the crash in Common Lane, Pleasely, the man was taken to hospital and remained there before officers began questioning him.
Officers investigating the fatal collision are appealing to the public for more information or to motorists who may have CCTV footage of the cars before the incident.
In a statement, Derbyshire Police said: “We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision and has any information.
