Riley Gaines calls on Trump to show ‘humility’ after controversial Jesus AI post

OutKick’s Riley Gaines addressed her criticism of President Donald Trump, which led her to respond that she’s not a “fan” of the conservative influencer, and reiterated Tuesday that she thinks the image of the AI ​​he has posted as a Christ-like figure is inappropriate.

Gaines said he received “a lot of pushback” from the MAGA base for his view.

“A lot of things can really be true here. No. 1, I believe humility will serve President Trump, No. 2, God is not to be mocked and blasphemy is not something to be taken lightly, and number three, I have no regrets about casting my vote,” Gaines said on his show. “But this online base and the discourse there makes you feel crazy for saying these things.”

Gaines was among conservative voices objecting to Trump’s robed image on Monday healing a sick mansurrounded by followers and patriotic images.

Americans on both sides of the aisle, including many Trump supporters, criticized the image as inappropriate and even blasphemous.

On Monday, Trump was asked about the photo of himself, which he later deleted.

“I thought I was the doctor and He was involved with the Red Cross…we support that and only fake news can expose that,” Trump told reporters.

“As a doctor, I’m supposed to be the one to make people better,” Trump continued. “And I make people better.”

Later in the day, a reporter asked Trump if he deleted the image because of criticism from Gaines and other supporters.

“I didn’t listen to Riley Gaines. I’m actually not a big fan of Riley,” Trump said.

Gaines also asked guest and Green Beret veteran Nick Freitas about the situation Tuesday.

Freitas said he was glad Trump removed the photo, adding that there are three categories of people who respond to the controversy: People who always attack Trump, MAGA supporters who think Trump shouldn’t be criticized for making common cause with liberals, and “common sense” people like Freitas and Gaines who think Trump shouldn’t have posted it but still support his presidency.

“Someone who depicts himself in a picture where he is clearly making a comparison to Jesus, that’s not a good idea, right?” he said. “Christ is one to be respected.”

Gaines also detailed his thoughts on social media, saying he continues to support his agenda.

“I love the President and am so grateful to have him in the Oval Office. Of course, I will continue to support him and his America First agenda,” Gaines wrote. “At the end of the day, I do nothing for the sake of man’s consent. Our purpose in this world is to glorify [God] in everything we do.”
