Karnataka Bhovi Development Corporation chairperson urges community to get educated

Underlining the importance of getting education, M. Ramappa, Chairman, Karnataka Bhovi Development Corporation, said that the people of Bhovi community should receive education for development in economic, social and political sectors.
He was addressing the meeting after chairing a review meeting in Raichur on February 24 to ascertain the progress made by the Karnataka government in implementing schemes for the Bhovi community.
The meeting was jointly organized by the district administration, zilla panchayat, Social Welfare Department and Karnataka Bhovi Development Corporation at Pandit Siddaram Jambaladinni Rangamandir.
Mr. Ramappa said that the education rate in Kalyana Karnataka district is less than other parts of the state. People of the Bhovi community must prioritize their children’s education to avail government benefits and also help find a way to bring about change in the society.
The State Government headed by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has committed to develop the society by providing all support including release of grants. He added that government officials should implement programs for the Bhovi community and ensure that not a single beneficiary is left out of assistance.
Mr. Ramappa interacted with community leaders who encouraged him to provide financial assistance to unemployed youth even after completing technical training.
Mr. Ramappa distributed the land rights records to the beneficiaries of the Bhu Odetana scheme.
A person asked Mr. Ramappa to end the middleman threat in government offices and also demand him to take action to resolve disputes raised by property owners regarding the Bhu Odetana scheme, which imposes land sanctions on land beneficiaries in some cases.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Shivanand, Additional Police Inspector Kumarswamy, Zilla Panchayat Deputy Secretary Halasiddappa, Santoshi Rani and others were present.
