Beloved Cincinnati Imam detained by ICE after asylum revoked

Imam Ayman Soliman, a former priest in Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, was suddenly detained by ICE after the asylum status given after escaping from the persecution in Egypt in 2018. The asylum process began under Biden administration at the end of 2024 and was completed in June 2025. His arrest during a routine check-in, leaving the Cincinnati community to shock and turmoil, and revealed urgent questions about the punishment process and the fate of non-punishment immigrants.
