BBC
The Prime Minister is on a “conflict course” over the Lord Mandelson inquiry scandal, according to a Guardian headline. Every paper on Tuesday covers Sir Keir Starmer’s claims in the House of Commons that he did not know he had failed checks to become Britain’s ambassador to the US and had not been notified by the Foreign Office. The Foreign Office’s most senior civil servant, Sir Olly Robbins, who was effectively sacked on Thursday, will now make a “high-stakes” appearance and tell “his side of the story”.
