Jelly Roll Files for Divorce After 10-Year Marriage, Citing Irreconcilable Differences

Nashville: Country music star Jelly Roll has filed for divorce from his wife of 10 years, according to court records.

The complaint, filed by the “Hard Fought Hallelujah” singer in Franklin, Tennessee, cites irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce. The couple married in Las Vegas in 2016. The date of separation is stated in the file as May 9.

Jelly Roll, whose name is Jason DeFord, won three Grammys earlier this year, including best contemporary country album, for “Beautiful Broken.”

The Nashville native’s songs often deal with overcoming adversity and coming back from drugs and prison, and he speaks about the redemption process to audiences ranging from people serving time in juvies to concert crowds and even testimony before Congress.

In December, Tennessee’s Republican Governor Bill Lee granted a pardon to Jelly Roll after overwhelming support from friends and civic leaders.

In her memoirs, published in February, Xo wrote that Jelly Roll was her “soul mate” and said a true bond kept the couple together through the ups and downs. A message seeking comment to his attorneys was not immediately responded to Tuesday. A representative for Jelly Roll also did not immediately respond to messages.
