Suspicious package find shuts down inner-city Brisbane street
Updated ,first published
Reports of a suspicious package in Brisbane’s CBD led police to close a major street shortly before 10am on Friday.
Specialist officers closed Ann Street between Wharf Street and Boundary Road, directing cars and foot traffic away from the area.
The package was found on the footpath on the south side of Ann Street.
Within an hour, a half-dozen officers worked to move a bus away from where the package was found.
About 10 police cars attended the scene and officers were stationed outside St John’s Cathedral and at the intersection of Queen Street.
