Lewis Capaldi jokes the crowd ‘are going to leave’ his BST headline show for the England match as he begs fans to stay until the end

Lewis Capaldi implored fans to stay until the end of his BST performance on Saturday, joking the crowd ‘they’ll be leaving’ for the England game.
The 29-year-old Scottish singer will perform two headline performances at BST Hyde Park this year, sponsored by Peroni.
But when England faced Norway in a thrilling World Cup quarter-final, Lewis feared fans would head to the pub instead.
Lewis said: ‘Thank you for being here! Although I know most of you will be leaving when the England game starts.’
‘Let’s not get into this. I’m Scottish, most of you are English. Can’t we all live in peace and harmony? “He’s coming home,” he joked.
Lewis added: ‘But it’s special to have you here, I’m grateful you’re here when you could have been anywhere else.
‘Even if you get to the bar early… So please stay, as many of you as you can, stay until the end.’
